WatchHouse Coffee

WatchHouse Chrysler

WatchHouse is a modern coffee brand from the United Kingdom, and its Chrysler Building location sits at the base of one of the most celebrated examples of Art Deco architecture in the world, designed by William Van Alen in 1930. Opening a space inside a landmark of that stature set a high bar for the build.

The interior reinterprets the Chrysler Building's own material language with precision. High-gloss timber, brushed and curved metal surfaces, and warm travertine reference the finishes found throughout the tower, while a recessed circular lightbox set into the ceiling draws the eye upward and creates a moment of stillness above the espresso bar.

REMI executed the build to the standard a landmark address demands, balancing the brand's contemporary identity with the grandeur of its surroundings.
